About Dr. Adam Baumgarten

Dr. Adam Baumgarten is a board-certified Urologist currently practicing at University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Baumgarten’s specialties include genitourinary reconstruction, men’s health and sexual performance, and erectile dysfunction treatments including prosthetic urology.

Dr. Baumgarten attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine, followed by his residency at the (USF) University of South Florida going on to complete a fellowship in urologic trauma, reconstruction, and prosthetics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Baumgarten serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology in addition to a number of administrative and leadership roles within the UAB health system.

Dr. Baumgarten has a passion for helping men address sensitive topics related to men’s health and sexual performance, prioritizing discretion and personalized care so men can comfortably address and enhance their health, well-being, confidence, and sexual relationships with their partners.

Dr. Baumgarten is a member of numerous urological societies including the (SMSNA) Sexual Medicine Society of North America, (AUA) American Urological Association, and the Genitourinary Reconstruction Surgeons. Dr. Baumgarten has authored or co-authored over 50 publications and book chapters on reconstruction within urology and the specialty of men’s health.
